Background: Kate was born to Liam and Mireya Fox, two of SHIELDs top agents. Mireya was a scientist and field agent, and Liam was a combat and espionage specialist. Kate was an unexpected, but welcome surprise and Kate grew up within SHIELD. Kate was a very active child and to help spend that energy, Liam and Mireya had Kate trained in whatever she expressed an interest in, most notably archery. Kate’s skill with a bow was nearly unmatched (apart from Hawkeye), who helped to train her once he saw her potential. Kate learned ALS to help communicate with Clint and he became a mentor to her.

When Kate was 16, her parents were both killed while on a mission to South America. Kate poured her grief into her training and agent Phil Coulson became Kate’s official guardian until she turned 18. As an adult, Kate began to go on missions with SHIELD agents, and was often paired with Clint. However, as she proved herself over and over again, Nick Fury began to allow Kate to go on missions alone. Over time, Kate began to work occasionally with the Avengers as a SHIELD liaison. She and Steve Rogers have slowly developed a friendship that is starting to blossom into something more.
